SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Chinse Association of Western Massachusetts began the revival of it's organization during the height of Asian hate. On Saturday, the association celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander culture at Tower Square. Different cultures performed music from their heritage and featured in a traditional attire fashion walk. The associations revitalization is all part of a mission to unite various minority groups to have a bigger voice. "We know that we have power when we come together. We're so happy, and I think that happiness is what's going to make this grow even bigger every year," shared Lian Duan, committee member, Chinese Association of Western Mass. The association will host it's next big event in February for the Chinese New Year. You can look forward to an afternoon of performances and food. To stay up to date with upcoming events or get involved with the Chinese Association of Western Mass, visit here.
