ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Diego Pavia continues to prove his doubters wrong. The former Volcano Vista and NMSU quarterback, now starting for Vanderbilt, upset No. 1 Alabama on Saturday with a 40-35 win. Pavia played a crucial role in the Commodores win. Against the Crimson Tide defense, Pavia completed 16-20 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns. He also racked up 49 yards on the ground. The victory marks the Commodores first-ever win against a top five opponent and first win inside of SEC play since 2022. With the win, Pavia and Vanderbilt improved to 3-2 on the year.
