INDIANAPOLIS — A car ran into a retention pond on the northwest side of Indianapolis Saturday afternoon. According to the Pike Township Fire Department, first responders were called to the 4800 block of Pendragon Boulevard around 4:17 p.m. because a car had run into a retention pond. The Speedway, Wayne Township and Indianapolis Fire Departments were also dispatched to the scene. PTFD reported that two members of its crew entered the water upon their arrival at the scene. They initially reported nobody was in the pond, but could not check underwater because they did not have diving equipment. Two IFD divers then responded to the scene and ensured nobody was in the car or the water. Once first responders had made sure nobody was in the water, a tow truck operator helped pull the car out of the pond. As of this article's publication, no additional information on the incident had been made available.
