It's been a fantastic weekend weather-wise throughout Central Indiana. It will cap off on a nice note on Sunday before things change into the weekend. On average, a given October in Indianapolis sees three days of 80° highs. Another will likely be added on Sunday! Thanks to increased southerly flow ahead of a cold front, this will be the warmest day of this mild weather stretch. A cold front will pass through Central Indiana later Sunday. However, our current thinking is that it will come through dry as our airmass won't be prevalent for producing big rains. A stray sprinkle or light shower is possible especially north and NE but mostly sunny/partly cloudy skies will dominate. Once the front passes through, we'll return to fall with highs in the upper 60s/near 70° Monday and into next week. Dry stretch not done September was a dry month overall, with the exception of Helene's remnants moving through a bit more than a week ago. At this point, that remains the most significant rainfall in weeks for Central Indiana. Drought conditions did improve slightly when the latest drought monitor was released last week. However, we'll be monitoring this with no significant rainfall forecast in the near term.
