The University of Hawaii football team lost another heartbreaker to San Diego State on Saturday, falling 27-24 on Saturday. Hawaii responded with consecutive passing touchdowns by Brayden Schager to take its first lead, 24-20, with 9:39 left in the fourth quarter. San Diego State responded with a Marquez Cooper 2-yard score with 7:05 left in what proved to be the game's final score. On its ensuing drive, Hawaii converted on fourth-and-18 from its own 42. In an attempt to keep the drive going, the Rainbow Warriors turned the ball over on fourth and 2 on the SDSU 31, choosing not to call timeout. UH got the ball back after forcing another punt, albeit with 10 seconds left on its own 23. The 'Bows could not advance the ball any further than that. Schager completed 26 of his 44 passes for 272 yards, three touchdowns and an interception, while SDSU's Danny O'Neil completed 24 of his 33 passes for 224 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. Meanwhile, Cooper rushed 30 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Hawaii defensive end Elijah Robinson had a game-high 11 tackles, including three for loss.
