Grammy Award-winning singer Monica headlined the event and sang hit songs like “Angel of Mine” and “The Boy is Mine.” Photo by Isaiah Singleton/The Atlanta VoiceThe Stockbridge Amphitheater hosted an unforgettable sold-out evening of music and celebration with three of R&B’s most dynamic voices: Monica, Sevyn Streeter, and Tamar Braxton.The charismatic Niecy Shaw hosted the concert and had the DJ hype the crowd with songs like “Before I Let Go” and “Knock If You Buck.”In a special salute to the Ladies of the Divine 9, the concert honored the legacy and contributions of prominent sororities including Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta, and Sigma Gamma Rho.The musical tribute served as a platform to celebrate the empowerment and sisterhood embodied by these trailblazing organizations. Shaw did a phenomenal job at hosting the show entertaining the crowd with various selections of music and entertainment. Photo by Isaiah Singleton/The Atlanta VoiceThe versatile Sevyn Streeter started off the night embracing the stage and fans with her hits such as “It Won’t Stop”, and collaborations with Chris Brown, and Tamar Braxton, a powerhouse vocalist, television personality, and the youngest of the legendary Braxton family.Streeter got the crowd ready for the rest of the night. She had people standing up shouting her lyrics. Personally, I love Sevyn Streeter, one of my favorite songs by her is “Should’ve Been There” featuring B.O.B. She really helped open the night because the next person to come after her was the iconic and legendary Tamar Braxton.Braxton was brought out after Sevyn, singing hits like “Love and War”, “All the Way Home”, “My Man”, and “Miss Your Kiss.” The crowd was standing up and shouting every lyric back to Braxton. She even brought out her sister Toni to perform as well.Monica, a Grammy Award-winning singer, and actress headlined the event. With chart-topping hits like “Angel of Mine” and “The Boy is Mine,” Monica’s soulful sound and timeless voice have defined R&B for over two decades.Monica ended the night spectacularly with hits after hits wooing the crowd with her energy. She performed songs like “So Gone”, “You Should Have Known Better”, “Don’t take it Personal”, “Before you walk out of my life”, “Love all over me”, “Why I love you so much”. The night was truly a Monica night, and the crowd was singing word-for-word standing up in their seats.Monica stole the show because she had the entire amphitheater shouted her lyrics and reminiscing on the old days. It was truly a night to remember to celebrate the ladies of Divine 9.The magical part about this being held at the Stockbridge Amphitheater was that it was both intimate and felt like a major concert.
