Buchholz lifts Batavia football to big win over HFL

HONEOYE FALLS, N.Y. (WROC) — Bronx Buchholz had five total touchdowns as Batavia took down Honeoye Falls-Lima in a battle of undefeated teams atop the Class B standings.
Batavia led 6-2 after the first quarter and was up 14-9 in the second quarter before Buchholz threw a pair of touchdowns in the final four minutes of the first half to put the Blue Devils up 26-9 at the half.
Nate Meachem and the Cougars responded to start the third quarter, with the HF-L quarterback throwing a touchdown to Holden Kamm to make it 26-16. But Buchholz answered with a rushing touchdown on the ensuing drive to make it 32-16 and put the game out of reach.
Buchholz threw three passing touchdowns and ran in two scores. Carter Mullen, Maggio Buchholz, and Da'von Gallo-Williams each had a receiving touchdown.
Batavia (5-0) will host Eastridge on Friday, October 11th. HF-L (4-1) will try and bounce back against Athena on Thursday, October 10th.
