WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that happened in Wichita in the early hours of Saturday morning. The WPD said the first shooting happened around 2:46 a.m. near the intersection of Harry and Rock Road. Officers were dispatched to a shots fired call in the area. Shortly after, a woman, 19, walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound to her head. WPD said the woman was in critical but stable condition. Detectives are investigating. One hospitalized in rollover crash on I-135 in south Wichita early Saturday morning The second shooting happened three hours later, around 5:46 a.m., near the intersection of Skinner and Washington. Officers responded to that location, and a short time later, a victim, a 19-year-old woman, walked into a local hospital with a gunshot wound to her upper torso. She was in critical but stable condition. The WPD said the circumstances that led up to that shooting are still under investigation.
