SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Hundreds gathered at the Jonesville Baptist Church on Saturday morning to say goodbye to beloved community member and veteran, James Putney. Putney, who passed away on Sept. 22 at the age of 70, served as a chaplain on the Chatham County Veterans Council and held the position of commander for Post 500, the first African American Legion in Georgia.
