OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) - Oshkosh PD has provided an update on the deadly hit-and-run from earlier Saturday morning, saying a 21-year-old suspect was taken into custody.
According to the Oshkosh Police Department, a 21-year-old man was taken into custody sometime on Saturday, October 5, relating to the hit-and-run on New York Avenue that left a pedestrian dead at the scene.

New York Avenue has since reopened.

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) - Officers in Oshkosh are investigating a hit-and-run that left one person dead at the intersection of New York Avenue and Gross Court early Saturday morning.
The Oshkosh Police Department is asking the public to avoid the area of New York Avenue between Algoma Boulevard and Elmwood Street while it investigates a deadly hit-and-run that happened just before 3 a.m. on October 5.
Officers arrived at the scene to find a pedestrian on the road with no suspect vehicle in sight. It is believed that the suspect vehicle may have headed westbound over the Congress Avenue Bridge.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after lifesaving measures were provided.
The Oshkosh Police Department is asking anyone who lives in the area to check their security cameras for any activity between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m.
