It is a warm and dry start to the weekend across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. We hope you have enjoyed the sunshine for your Saturday plans! Look for mostly clear skies to be in place tonight. However, an approaching cold front will result in winds picking up as the night goes on. Look for gusts up to 25 mph at times. Low temperatures will drop down into the lower 60s. We're clear and warm late this evening.Winds increase and a few clouds arrive by daybreak Sunday. There remains the chance to see the northern lights overnight before daybreak Sunday. Confidence remains low though in the chance for them to materialize. Check back in for updates. Seeing the northern lights possible Saturday night A cold front will slide through the area on Sunday, bringing a brief increase in clouds and some windy conditions. Look for winds to gust up to 35 mph at times throughout the day. The combination of the gusty winds, dry air behind the front, and dry ground in place is a recipe for there to be an elevated fire danger on Sunday. Outdoor burning is discouraged, as any field fires could spread rapidly. Be very careful. High temperatures Sunday reach as high as the upper 70s before the front moves through. A cold front moves through on Sunday.Our highest temperatures occur in the early afternoon hours on Sunday.We're windy and cooling down during the evening.Winds could gust as high as 35 mph on Sunday. Winds will decrease quickly then Sunday night, with skies becoming partly cloudy. Low temperatures will take a tumble into the mid-40s. Clouds increase into Sunday night.We're in the 40s by daybreak Monday. We'll see high temperatures go down into the 60s then for the next few days after this frontal passage, which will be a nice change! What will not be nice is the continuation of dry weather conditions, with no rain in the forecast all throughout the upcoming week.
