Goose Creek Police arrest former firefighter on child sexual exploitation charges

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) - Goose Creek Police Chief LJ Roscoe has confirmed the arrest of a former city firefighter on charges of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Wayne Leonard Sammons, a Goose Creek resident, was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Chief Roscoe stated that Sammons was fired from the Goose Creek Fire Department immediately upon his arrest. "He was terminated on the spot," she said.
According to Chief Roscoe, Sammons is being held at the Berkeley County Jail, where a judge denied him bond.
The Goose Creek Police Department is actively investigating the case.
