Inmate suicide reported at Louisiana prison; Department of Corrections says

BATON ROUGE, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Louisiana Department of Corrections is investigating an inmate suicide at a state prison on Friday evening.
A news release from the DOC said the incident happened on Oct. 4 at around 6:30 p.m. at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center. Corrections officers said they found the 21-year-old inmate hanging and unresponsive in his cell and "immediately began CPR."
He was pronounced dead at 7:07 p.m.
The man has been an inmate at Hunt Correctional Center since July. His name is withheld until his next of kin is notified.
