• Another week, another blowout victory for the Case Western Reserve football team.
The Spartans rolled to a 58-14 victory at Allegheny and improved 4-0 this season. The Case offense — which entered play Oct. 5 with the nation’s No. 6 scoring offense — has put 219 points on the board in 2024 and has outscored its first four opponents by an average score of 54.7-10.2.
Quarterback Alex Fromberg threw for 286 yards and two touchdown passes in the rout as the offense had 527 yards of total offense.
The Spartans had two 100-yard receivers in Noah Coyne (4-130) of NDCL and Dylan Cave (5-128-2TD). Ethan Dahlem caught a 50-yard TD.
Case’s defense limited Allegheny to 153 yards and had three sacks.
• Lake Erie’s passing game was flinging the ball up and down the field, but it wasn’t enough at Walsh University as the defense allowed a whopping 642 yards in a 63-34 loss.
Walsh (2-2) erupted for 28 second-quarter points and led, 42-6, at halftime.
The Storm (1-3) were led by quarterback Alec Lewis, who was 26 of 44 for 434 yards and four touchdowns and two interceptions. LEC also had three 100-yard receivers in Tae’Shaun Johnson (seven catches, 137 yards, two TDs), Ali Lee Jr. (8-115-TD) and Keyshawn Johnson (6-102-TD).
Walsh QB TC Molk was 16 of 16 passing for 285 yards and three TD passes. The Cavaliers ran for 357 yards.
