NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man is dead following a fatal crash that occurred on Saturday, Oct. 5. According to the New Orleans Police Department, officers were notified of the crash, which happened at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Franklin Avenue, at 5:21 a.m. Two homicides being investigated in Tangipahoa Parish Investigation reportedly shows that the victim was driving westbound on I-10 when, for an unknown reason, he drove off of the roadway and down an embankment. His vehicle then struck a tree on the driver's side. The New Orleans Fire Department had to extricate the victim from his vehicle, and New Orleans EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
