ASHE COUNTY, N.C. – New video shows a water rescue in Ashe County as Helene battered the area last Friday. A family gathered for a wedding rehearsal when they heard a woman screaming for help. Flood waters trapped Leslie Worth in her Grassy Creek home. She eventually had to jump out of the house when it became unstable. A man getting ready for his son’s rehearsal dinner heard her, jumped into the water and rode down the water with her about 150 yards before they could swim to shore. Afterward, he invited her to the rehearsal dinner.
