AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The day dawned with sunshine and fair-weather clouds resulting in a pretty sunrise at 7:27. Lows fell to the mid/upper 50s in the Hill Country. Lows in the 60s were common from the eastern Hill Country across the interstate into our eastern communities. The low at Camp Mabry was 69°, 4° above normal. The airport had a low of 65°, also 4° above normal. High pressure over north Texas is providing a north to northeast wind for Central Texas. Thus, the air remains relatively dry. The normal high for October 5th is 86° Day 2 of the 2024 Austin City Limits Music Festival will be pretty similar to Day 1 but with a few more clouds this morning that will yield to sunshine with a few fair-weather clouds this afternoon. The sky will be mainly clear this evening. Another very warm day at Zilker Park The humidity will lower to the 40s by noon, then drop to mostly 30s during the afternoon. Lowering humidity during the day Temperatures during the week will remain above normal but will lower a few degrees starting Tuesday. The short-term forecast through Friday is for no rain. Today will be the 30th consecutive day with no measured rain at Camp Mabry. There is no threat to any land as these storms progress over the open Atlantic. The weather system that sat in the northwest Caribbean for days is in the Gulf of Mexico with a higher probability of developing into the next tropical depression or Tropical Storm Milton.
