(KRON) -- An East Bay music venue abruptly pulled the plug on a DJ night scheduled for Friday just hours in advance due to an offensive flyer and social media posts advertising the event. Friday afternoon on Instagram, Oakland's Thee Stork Club reposted a flier for the "First Friday Freak-Off" with a big red X across the page, signifying the event had been canceled. "BRUH. Tonight's DJ set has been cancelled and will be replaced and curated by @paydayI0an," the club wrote. "We don't make the fliers for the shows that get booked here and for the most part the ig posts for shows are on a schedule and we didn't catch the issue about the reprehensible content of this one until the community let us know." Michelin starred restaurant trashes SF’s SOMA in post announcing closure The flyer in question featured a bottle of baby oil, an apparent reference to the ongoing case involving Sean "Diddy" Combs. Combs is currently awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. The rap mogul was indicted on three counts of racketeering, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution. A large focus of the indictment are sex parties between victims and male sex workers that Combs called "Freak Offs." These are defined in the indictment as "elaborate and produced sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded." Among the details in the indictment, were that raids of Combs' Los Angeles and Miami homes resulted in the seizure of "Freak Off" supplies that included drugs and more than 1,000 bottle of baby oil. Language on the flyer promoting the canceled "First Friday Freak-Off" included apparent references to Combs' sex parties, utilizing a series of hashtags that seemingly referenced behavior at the parties. The flyer also included the hashtag #consent amid the others it included. While Thee Stork Club has deleted the initial Instagram post promoting the party, the event promoter's post promoting the event was still up as of Friday afternoon. User comments on the post called out the offensive nature of the flyer. "This is like having an R-Kelly themed party in hopes to discuss sexual violence," wrote one user. "We aren't at a place where this is funny or effective. It's harmful and tone deaf." "As a survivor of CSA (child sexual abuse) this is just diabolically alienating and hurtful, and, well, noted," wrote another. "This is disappointing and even if consent is the center, this flier does not make me feel safe to engage," wrote another. "Also new lawsuits coming out against diddy with victims as young as 9. This is weird yall." One individual involved in a lawsuit from a Houston attorney representing 120 accusers who have come forward against Combs alleges he was just 9 years old when he was abused.
