BOYLSTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A chef from Boylston is the winner of a $10 million scratch ticket. According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Michael Fitzgerald, a chef from Boylston, bought a $20 "$10,000,000 Cash Blast" instant ticket from Star Liquor in Shrewsbury. Michael told the lottery officials that he picked that ticket because he saw that there were a lot of big prizes remaining. On Thursday, Michael chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $6,500,000 (before taxes). Star Liquor will receive $50,000 for its sale of the ticket. The Cash Blast has two remaining $10,000,000 tickets and two $1 million tickets remaining. This lucky lottery winner chose Moneybags Capital Trust of Quicy to claim their ticket on Thursday. This $20 ticket was called "$10,000,000 Cash King" and has no more chances to win $10 million however, there is one remaining $1 million prize. The winner, whose identity will not be revealed, chose the cash option and received $6,500,000 (before taxes). Jose Tejada Grullon of Worcester won a $1 million prize in the “Bonus 100X” instant ticket game. He also chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). Jose told lottery officials that he plans to invest some of his winnings. His ticket was bought at O’Hara’s Wine & Liquors in Worcester. The liquor store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
