Richmond couple identified as victim, shooter in apparent homicide, suicide

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim and the shooter in an apparent homicide and suicide that took place on Chamberlayne Avenue in late September.
On Saturday, Sept. 21 at 5:54 a.m., officers received a report of two people down at a home at the 4300 block of Chamberlayne Avenue.
According to police, when officers arrived, they found 29-year-old Jonel Brown and 29-year-old Darnell Forehand, both of Richmond, down and unresponsive. Both had been shot.
Brown was taken to a local hospital, where she later died on Thursday, Sept. 26. Forehand died at the scene.

According to police, detectives had determined that Forehand shot Brown, then shot himself. The motive of the shooting is not known at this time, but detectives said that Forehand and Brown were dating.
