MassDOT schedules overnight structure inspections

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said it will be performing structure inspections along the Interstate 195 corridor.
The inspections will take place from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following morning on Oct. 7 in Somerset and Fall River and on Oct. 8 in New Bedford, Fairhaven, and Wareham.
MassDOT said the following lane closures will be in place during the inspections:
Single right lane closure on the Fall River Expressway southbound at the intersection of the Water Street Connector.
Single right lane and shoulder closure on I-195 eastbound starting at the Brayton Point Road Underpass extending to the Braga Bridge.
Single right lane closure on I-195 eastbound exit 11 off-ramp starting just before the exit and extending to the intersection with the Western Fall River Expressway.
New Bedford – Single left lane closure on I-195 eastbound starting at exit 24A and extending to the Shawmut Avenue Underpass.
Fairhaven and New Bedford – Single left lane closure on I-195 westbound starting just before the Adams Street Underpass and extending to the Belleville Avenue Underpass.
Wareham – Single left lane closure on I-195 eastbound between exit 39 and the Route 28 Underpass.
Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
