EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Jo-Ann Stores is recalling approximately 9,700 desk lamps due to a fire hazard, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The Place & Time battery-operated lamps, which were sold in the colors green, pink and cream, can overheat while charging.
Jo-Ann Stores has received three reports of the battery compartment melting or popping while the lamp was charging. No injuries have been reported.
The lamps were sold nationwide at Jo-Ann Stores and online for roughly $23.
Anyone who purchased one of the recalled lamps is urged to stop using it and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Those who return the lamp without a receipt will receive a $23 store credit.
If the recalled lamp can't be returned, Jo-Ann Stores suggested send a photograph of it to [email protected] to receive and electronic gift card.
