OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A metro woman has been waiting for her dentures for months, she is still without a smile. "Ugly, embarrassed, mostly embarrassed," said Stacey Northrup, woman missing dentures. That's how Northrup says she feels living without her smile "And just helpless cause I don't know where else to turn," said Northrup. That's why she turned to News 4, to try and get some answers and her smile back. Northrup is on disability and is in need of dentures, a procedure Medicare approved and already paid for. "I would just really like to feel better, look better, be able to eat, chew my food it would be great," said Northrup. The process began in April at Complete Dental of OKC in Southwest Oklahoma City. "For my third trip there, there's no dentists, the doors weren't even unlocked, they were closed," said Northrup. She also tried calling and has had no luck, News 4 attempted to call too, but couldn't even leave a voicemail. News 4 stopped by Complete Dental of OKC, their office is closed Friday through Sunday, but we went by anyways. We found a sign on the door that said 'Office closed today. Sorry we missed you.' We also knocked several times. While there, several other businesses told us that sign is always up no matter the day and that they haven't seen a dentist or patients there in months. Complete Dental of OKC is active on social media with several recent posts, News 4 sent them a message and never heard back. They are owned by Heartland Dental, which also owns Moore Complete Dental. We stopped by to see if they knew anything about Northup's denture dilemma. We were told there's been some turn around with dentists at Complete Dental of OKC, but as of October 1 a new dentist was to be hired. The office in Moore, which doesn't share the same databases, wrote down Northrup's name and phone number and said they'd get in contact with the other manager when they open on Monday. News 4 also reached out to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. "Privacy rules around health information preclude us from discussing specific cases, though we have passed along the information you shared to case workers." CMS News 4 will continue to check in on this story, until Northrup receives her dentures.
