NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Rain will be tapering off around the area Friday evening with just spotty showers possible for most of the area. There will be a bit more persistent rain near the coast for a bit longer. Temperatures will stay mainly in the mid to upper 70s. Drier weather moves in over the weekend. Expect a lot of clouds Saturday but most of the rain will stay along the coast and offshore. Just a few spotty showers will pop up inland. Temperatures will top out in the low 80s. Expect more sun Sunday with mid 80s. A cold front will move into the area by Tuesday of next week. We will be warm ahead of it with the upper 80s. After that drier air moves in by Tuesday and we will see lows down into the 50s in the northern half of the area by Wednesday morning.
