Couple arrested after drugs discovered in Slidell storage yard

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — A couple from the New Orleans area was arrested on Wednesday after drugs were found inside of a repossessed vehicle at a Slidell storage yard.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the storage yard on Tuesday, Oct. 1, after a Slidell-based repossession company allegedly found a gun and drugs in a vehicle that the company had repossessed earlier that morning.

Detectives with the STPSO's Narcotics Unit got a search warrant for the vehicle and reportedly found over 9 pounds of marijuana, 18 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, packaging material for drug distribution at the street-level and a semi-automatic handgun.
32-year-old Rashad Davalie reportedly tried to recover his "personal belongings" from the vehicle several times. After law enforcement learned that information, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Oct. 2, Davalie and 32-year-old Charlesnisha Johnson arrived to get their belongings from the car and were taken into custody without incident.

Upon searching the vehicle that Davalie and Johnson had arrived in, more marijuana was allegedly found along with seven ecstasy pills, which contained methamphetamine.
Davalie and Johnson were then booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.
