MARRERO, La. (WGNO) — A Harvey man convicted in a 2022 Marrero deadly shooting has been found guilty. According to the office of Jefferson Parish District Attorney Paul Connick, on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 23-year-old Kintez "Kutta" Johnson was found guilty of shooting and killing 30-year-old Reginel Golman. According to court documents, on Sept. 23, 2022, Golman and his girlfriend were reportedly sitting in a vehicle at the corner of Fourth Street and Ames Boulevard when the shooting happened. Man arrested, accused of reckless driving in fatal Independence crash A recount of the homicide was given and documents stated hours before the shooting, the couple was at a Marrero home when Johnson appeared. That's when Golman's brother, an inmate at a Louisiana prison, called and spoke to him. The recorded conversation caught Golman telling his brother that there was "a bag on my head" meaning someone wanted him dead. Documents read, the three then left and rode to the store. Golman went inside while the girlfriend and Johnson drove to an apartment complex and back. Golman returned to the car and spoke with Johnson who pulled out a semiautomatic pistol and shot Golman as he sat in the front seat. Johnson then ran away. Woman found shot, killed at Tangipahoa Parish apartment complex: Deputies In the midst of the shooting, Golman's girlfriend reportedly ran to a nearby business but it was noted that the workers had locked the doors after hearing the shots fired. She returned to the car and found Golman was still alive. It was noted that Golman told her "Take me home by my momma" where he died in the passenger seat. According to court documents, witnesses and convenience store security cameras led Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office detectives to identify Johnson and arrest him days later at a New Orleans East motel. During the investigation, 10 spent bullet casings were found and linked to Johnson's gun. In total, Golman suffered 15 gunshot wounds. On Oct. 2, jurors found Johnson guilty of second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and obstruction of justice. The unanimous verdict was delivered after a 2 1/2-hour deliberation. Sentencing is set for Oct. 29.
