KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Hotels, restaurants, bars you name it; the Kansas City forecast is a full house and a busy week as the Royals and the Chiefs look to take center stage nearly at the same time. "It's exciting especially since we lost over 100 games last year but right now to have them both play at the same time," said Tim Caniglia, owner of the Grandfalloon Restaurant and Bar said. "We're full for Chiefs game, this is going to be crazy in here on Monday night." On Monday, the Royals' playoff run will coincide with the 2-time defending football champs' primetime matchup with the New Orleans Saints. LIST: Where to find Kansas City Royals watch parties this weekend "It's fun," said Patrick Joyce, the general manager at The Raphael Hotel. "(A) fun job, it's hard work, perfect combination of it and it's why we're in this business because it's what we love doing and we love serving people." At The Raphael Hotel, they will double their revenue and will be put in a unique situation as employees will be working multiple positions. "We also rely on our wonderful staff here," Joyce explained. "Everybody is putting in hours no matter what department you're in. So we have folks who don't traditionally make beds, make beds." Just across Brush Creek, they'll do more than double the business. In fact, the owner expects a 200% increase in what they would normally see. "All the seats would be taken on Monday night for the Chiefs game," Caniglia said. "Now it's not going to be just the seats taken, it's going to be standing room also. It's going to be to the point where people are going to try to walk in here, and it's going to be too busy and they're going to have to go somewhere else." Are NFL referees helping the Chiefs win games? What do the stats say? Yes, they're calling in all the reinforcements from staff to more booze. "We have the resources, but once I found out they were playing on Monday I already ordered more beer and liquor.” Caniglia continued. The biggest concern at the Granfalloon is which team will get the speakers. "Our biggest decision is going to be, do they want the sound on the Royals or do they want the sound on the Chiefs?” Caniglia said.
