RACINE, Wis. (WFRV) - One of three homicide suspects stemming from an August shooting in southeastern Wisconsin was taken into custody on Wednesday with help from US Marshals.
According to the Racine Police Department, authorities established that Latreel Davis, a homicide suspect allegedly involved in a deadly shooting in Racine on August 8, was at a residence in the 1400 block of North Street.
On Wednesday, October 2, surveillance was set up at the previously mentioned residence. During the surveillance, officers say that three people left the home and tried to drive away. A traffic stop was conducted by the US Marshals Service, however, two men ran from the vehicle.

After a foot chase and 'extensive yard search,' the two men were taken into custody. Officers say they were found to have a handgun with an extended magazine and fully automatic switch.
However, neither of the men was the homicide suspect, Davis.
More investigating was done to determine Davis' secondary address, a residence in the 6300 block of 26th Avenue in Kenosha. Davis was eventually taken into custody after reportedly jumping out of a window at that location.

The shooting on Byrd Avenue left a 44-year-old man and a 49-year-old man with gunshot wounds. The 49-year-old would later die at a local hospital due to injuries sustained in the shooting.
