FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – If you've driven up Lafayette Street in the past week you might have noticed colorful banners lining the roadway. They're a part of a city initiative aimed to revitalize the southeast side of Fort Wayne. They were installed last week; the city is working in coordination with the Southeast Area Partnership. Grant funding was used to install the banners along Lafayette Street. They were curated by local artist Theoplis Smith otherwise known as 'Phresh Laundry'. The city says they are temporary, and their purpose is to welcome residents to the southeast side of Fort Wayne and show the pride of the community.
