CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two 18-year-old suspects were arrested in connection to a homicide near Steele Creek over the summer. Mia Patterson and Logan Ligthner were both arrested without incident Friday afternoon. After being interviewed by detectives in Uptown, they were transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with murder. The incident happened on Monday, July 22nd around 1:30 a.m. on Rachel Freeman Way near Steele Creek Road. Upon arrival, officers found 21-year-old Elijah Wright suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. This case is still under an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
