HALL COUNTY, Texas (KLBK/KXAN) -- The Texas Department of Public Safety issued a Blue Alert early Friday morning for 33-year-old Seth Altman, who is wanted for involvement in the killing or serious injury of a law enforcement officer.  Memphis, Texas, police chief Rex Plant was shot while serving an arrest warrant, according to a release from Gov. Greg Abbott's office announcing a $10,000 reward for information leading to Altman's arrest. Altman had been accused of burglary of a habitation and "fired multiple rounds" as Plant and another officer tried to arrest him late Thursday evening. Plant was taken to a Lubbock hospital, the release stated. Altman is described as a 6’2' white male with blue eyes, red/auburn hair, and weighs approximately 220 pounds. According to the Blue Alert, Altman is believed to be “armed and dangerous.” If seen, DPS asked to not approach and call 9-1-1.  To receive an award, people need to submit tips through the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) or DPS' online tip form. They will be considered anonymous, the release said.
