(KRON) -- A Napa man died in a hospital from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he allegedly gunned down his girlfriend and her attorney on Lincoln Avenue, investigators said Friday. The suspected killer, 28-year-old Baltazar Rangel Juarez, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, according to the Napa Police Department. Police said Juarez shot Georgina "Gina" Padilla and Ralph Andino III to death on September 26 outside Padilla's Napa home on Lincoln Avenue. Padilla, 38, was a mother of three daughters, according to a verified GoFundMe page. Andino, 54, of American Canyon, was a longtime Bay Area attorney. Both victims died at the shooting scene. "The suspect disregarded the emergency lights and siren and instead fled from multiple officers, eventually driving his vehicle into Kennedy Park, where it became disabled," the Napa Police Department wrote. Officers ordered Juarez to get out of his car and surrender, but he refused and grabbed a gun, NPD said. "The suspect refused to exit the vehicle and instead armed himself with a firearm," the police department wrote. At some point during the police standoff, Juarez shot himself, NPD said. Juarez was transported to a hospital where he died seven days later. Police have not released a suspected motive behind the killings. “We extend our condolences to the family and loved ones of Georgina and Ralph. This tragic lossnot only impacts those closest to them but also reverberates throughout our community,” the Napa Police Department wrote.
