(KRON) -- It has been a record-setting heat wave in the Bay Area to begin the month of October. Another heat-related record could be broken this Sunday in the South Bay. The San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals' Week 5 matchup could be the hottest game on record ever in Levi's Stadium since it opened back in 2014. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. in Santa Clara, and the game is set to take place during the peak hours of the heat. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures at the stadium are forecasted to be around 88 degrees when the game starts. That would be the hottest 49ers game on record at Levi's Stadium. According to SFGATE, the hottest temperature recorded at kickoff was 87 degrees. That occurred on Sept. 10, 2017 against the Carolina Panthers and again on Oct. 7, 2019 against the Cleveland Browns. The 49ers (2-2) enter Sunday's matchup against NFC West foe Arizona (1-3) after a 30-13 home win over the New England Patriots. San Francisco is second in the division behind the Seattle Seahawks (3-1).
