WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- Police have arrested a 36-year-old Wichita man on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder. They allege that the man is responsible for a shooting at Erie's Corner store three weeks ago. On Sept. 13, a 40-year-old man purchased cigarettes at the store just after 9 p.m. As he was walking toward the door, police say another man walked in, pulled out a handgun and began shooting the 40-year-old. The victim was hit six times in his upper and lower body. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The gunman fled. Woman convicted of killing Wichita couple loses appeal The Wichita Police Department did not say what led them to find and arrest the 36-year-old man. They only said that the case is still under investigation.
