Liberty Co. to hold Hurricane Helene relief drive

WALTHOURVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) - Walthourville will help host a Hurricane Helene relief drive aimed at providing emergency items to those in Liberty County who continue to be impacted by the storm.
The supply drive will be held Sunday, Oct. 6, at 1:00 p.m. Trucks will arrive to the Walthourville City Hall parking lot to give away food and supplies. The drive is a collaboration between Mayor Sarah B. Hayes and the American Legion Post 168 of Hinesville, which will also be the drop-off location for materials ahead of Sunday.
The organizers are asking for the following items to be donated:
Water
Non-perishable food (canned goods, no-prep foods, instant coffee, low-sodium options for seniors
Baby formula, wipes, baby food, diapers
Tool kits, duct tape, rain gear/tarps
Batteries, flashlights, battery-powered lanterns/fans
First aid items, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning wipes
Disposable plates, cups, utensils, food storage bags/containers
Hygiene products, mosquito repellant, aluminum foil
Pet food, dish soap, charcoal, lighter fluid
Strike-anywhere matches/lighters, portable grills, rope, garbage bags, manual can openers
