Falcons pull out OT thriller in shootout with Bucs
Oct 04, 2024
Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit, the announcer team for Prime’s Thursday Night Football finally got an exciting finish after their first few games had all been blowouts. Kirk Cousins threw for over 500 yards in last night’s 36-30 win on Thursday Night Football. In a game that saw a whopping 63 total points from both offenses, Tampa Bay had an opportunity to ice the game after Atlanta failed to convert on 4th & 15 with less than two minutes. But a holding penalty moved Tampa out of field goal range and the Falcons forced a punt. Kirk Cousins was able to drive Atlanta down the field and get them within field goal range with :01 left on the clock. Younghoe Koo banged home a 54-yarder to send it to OT where Cousins found Khadarel Hodge on a slant route that ended up going for the game winning-score.
The Falcons improved to 3-2 on the year (2-0 in division) and have elevated to the top of the NFC South after last night’s victory. Hopefully this is foreshadowing for the NFL weekend ahead. Below is the NFL Schedule for this weekend along with the current betting lines:
