the Govs wrapped up their 2024 regular season yesterday in style with two dominant wins over the Brookings Bobcats. Because of fading light both varsity games were played at the same time and instead of choosing one game to call, we decided to call both for our first ever soccer simulcast on DRGnews.com. The girls won 4-0 earning another shut out on the back of the Player of the Game, Emlynn Swanson. The goals came from Jasmine Jost, Ireland Templeton, & Gracelyn Taylor. The girls locked up the #3 seed and will host a home playoff game next week. In the Boys game they too scored four goals getting them from Caiden Ahartz, Javier Pretell Allegre, Alex Oedekoven & Owen Sivage who converted a beautiful corner from Jacoby LaRoche that sent a charge through the Pilc securing the 4-1 victory. The Boys have won nine games this year, the most in program history, and will also host a home playoff game for the first time next week. Congratulations to both teams for pulling out the win!
