MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Two separate back-to-back shootings left at least four people critically injured including a pregnant woman overnight in the Cordova and South Memphis area, police say. According to reports, the first shooting happened at the Enclave at Wolfchase apartments on Wolfchase Circle around 9:25 p.m. Police say a male victim was found in a white Hyundai suffering from a gunshot wound in the middle of his stomach. The windows in the back of the car and the driver's side window were shattered by gunfire. Another male victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper back and left arm. Police say shell casings were found along the fence line where the victim was located. Both victims were then taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition. Minutes later, officers say they were called to a Firestation on 2034 South Lauderdale Street where a shooting victim was dropped off. The victim stated shots rang out and that's when she jumped into a blue/gray SUV but was shot in the back before leaving the scene. She was then taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition. During that same time, officers say they were called to a gas station on 1335 South Bellevue Boulevard regarding another shooting victim from the same scene. The pregnant victim stated that she began running when she heard gunshots, but was struck in the back as she was getting into a Nissan Altima. She was also taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition. A witness from the shooting scene says it started when she was having a BBQ at her home in the 1400 block of Gaither Street and she heard a large gathering of people yelling. That is when she heard gunshots ring out and went into the house. Police say shell casings and a cell phone were found in the backyard of her home. This is still an ongoing investigation. 📡 See more breaking news, local news and weather from WREG.com for Memphis and the Mid-South. 📧 Sign up for WREG newsletters and have the latest top stories sent right to your inbox.
