INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police took three juveniles into custody following a pursuit and crash early Friday morning on the northwest side. The three were suspected in a series of armed robberies that occurred Thursday night and Friday morning, police said. Witnesses and license plate reader technology helped police identify the vehicle involved in those crimes. IMPD and Speedway police spotted the vehicle Friday morning, leading to a pursuit. The suspects’ vehicle hit a stopped vehicle and eventually crashed. The chaotic scene unfolded near 38th Street and Georgetown Road, leading to a large police presence in the area. The driver of the stopped vehicle had to be extricated by firefighters and EMS, although IMPD said the individual had minor injuries and complained of pain before being taken to a hospital as a precaution.
