EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Two men were arrested early Friday morning, Oct. 4, for driving while intoxicated after they both crashed into patrol units near Horizon, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. Roman Aranda, 27, and Daniel Vasqez, 32, were arrested after they both crashed into El Paso County Sheriff deputy patrol units hours apart on I-10 East near Horizon. Just before 2 a.m., deputies were initially investigating a crash on I-10 East near the Eastlake Exit. Deputies were blocking traffic with emergency overhead lights, and Aranda ended up striking a patrol unit and a tow truck, the Sheriff's Office said. An hour later, deputies were directing traffic near the area when Vasqez struck another patrol unit, according to the Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office says Aranda and Vasqez were intoxicated and were placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. They were both booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
