Fentanyl crisis in Colorado: DEA’s warning for parents Earlier this year, as part of an exclusive, new partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Rocky Mountain Field Division (DEA RMFD), FOX21 News spoke to Special Agent in Charge Jonathan Pullen about the dangers of fentanyl in Colorado and the dangers it poses to young people. “Fentanyl is in every community,” Pullen said previously. “It doesn’t matter what race you are, what ethnicity you are, whether you come from a good neighborhood or a bad neighborhood, what kind of car you drive—fentanyl is in your neighborhood.” Courtesy: DEA, 2mg, the amount on the tip of this pencil, can be enough to kill an average American. According to Pullen, in 2023, 2.61 million fentanyl pills were seized in Colorado, a record that we are on pace to easily break this year. Mexican drug cartels are operating in Southern Colorado, DEA says According to Venu, the kits will officially be installed on Friday beginning at 11:30 a.m. "The kit contains two boxes of Narcan (each box contains two doses) and instruction cards for how to administer the Narcan," according to a press release sent by Venu. "It will be installed in a publicly accessible area." To learn more about the dangers of fentanyl, visit DEA's 'One Pill Can Kill' website at dea.gov/onepill.
