BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- Jonathan Henriques from Rescue Alliance introduced Sidney, an adorable kitten up for adoption. Sidney is sweet, curious and playful. She's been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $75. Rescue Alliance will have Sidney and a few of their other cats at a PetSmart adoption event this weekend in Gonzales. The animal rescue organization is also a part of Bissell Pet Foundation's National Empty the Shelters event which runs through the first half of October. People interested can adopt adult cats from Rescue Alliance for only $25. This fee covers the cats getting spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Rescue Alliance is also proud to help the victims of Hurricane Helene. They've partnered with the Animal Disaster Relief Coalition and they're also trying to work with the Florida State Animal Response Coalition. This will be a joint effort to bring supplies to the areas impacted by Helene. Want to adopt a new pet?
