BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man accused of a fatal shooting in McFarland pleaded not guilty Thursday to murder and gun charges, court records show. Michael Mendez, 22, of Delano, was ordered held without bail and is due back in court later this month. On the night of Aug. 24, police received a report of a shooting in the 200 block of East Perkins Avenue, officials said. They found Lopez in the roadway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
