ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 16-year-old boy faces a number of charges after a stolen car chase through Gates Wednesday night. According to the Gates Police Department, they were called to Lyellwood Parkway around 11:30 p.m. after someone was reportedly robbed of their car at gunpoint by a group of people. Officers later found the car with one person inside. A chase ensued when the driver refused to pull over, police said. Photo provided by GPD. Officers gave chase until the car was stopped in the area of Elmgrove Road near Spencerport Road. A 16-year-old boy was arrested at the scene. Officers said he was also found with a loaded 9mm ghost gun, or a weapon that isn't easily traceable, which also had a 30-round magazine. The boy faces numerous vehicle and traffic violations. He was also charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, grand larceny, criminal use of a firearm, unlawful possession of an ammo-feeding device and fleeing an officer. He was taken to the Monroe County Detention Center on bail. The other suspects have yet to be identified.
