(KRON) -- Livermore and Pleasanton Fire Department crews were able to control a two-alarm house fire that almost burned two homes on Thursday afternoon. Why does San Francisco have some of the least air conditioned homes in the nation? Firefighters received a call about a residential fire in the 5000 block of Oakmont Circle in the Springtown District of Livermore just past 2:30 p.m. Fire crews arrived and found a fire affecting two homes. Despite it being a residential fire, LFD initially the fire was initially sparked outside before "quickly" exposing the two homes. LFD said the fire's intensity prompted a second alarm and additional fire crews to respond to the scene. Livermore fire crews said the fire damaged one of the home's attics. "Firefighters successfully prevented significant damage to the second home," LFD said. Firefighters were battling this blaze amid one of the Bay Area's warmest heat waves of the year. "Despite the 100-degree temperatures, the fire was swiftly extinguished," fire crews said. No injuries or fatalities were reported by LFD. Fire crews said the video attached in the player above shows "the risks and exposure that firefighters are exposed to every day."
