H.S. Boys Soccer Wrap: Notre Dame upsets Garfield

GARFIELD — Tyler Javick converted a pass from Will Lynch late in the first overtime session to give the Notre Dame High varsity boys’ soccer team a 1-0 road win over defending Group III state champion Garfield Thursday.
In the process, it also gave Irish fourth-year head coach Bryan Fisher, who began his career at West Windsor-Plainsboro South, the 150th coaching victory.
ND sophomore goalkeeper Anthony Merluse made 10 saves to secure the shutout of the Boilermakers.

Ben Shaffer and Denilson Santos Cantarero added a goal and two assists apiece.
