Albuquerque woman sentenced after taking plea deal in armed robbery cases

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque woman will spend several years behind bars after pleading guilty in two armed robbery cases. Cleo Barela was accused of more than a dozen armed robberies but the state said they were unable to prove without a doubt that she was involved in many of them.

As part of the plea deal, more than 30 charges were dropped including more than 15 armed robbery charges. Security footage showed Barela entering a Bob's burger on Juan Tabo in September 2023 and robbing it at gunpoint. On Thursday, Barela was sentenced to six years in prison.
