FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Every now and then you need a good old-fashioned spring cleaning. Only, you don't have to wait until spring. The people at Community Regional Medical Center recently teamed up to clean up their Downtown Fresno campus. “This campus is where we spend most of our time. Some of us spend more time here than our own homes. We wanted the hospital to really shine,” Dr. Amir Fathi, Chairman of the Facility Executive Committee said. The clean-up event also served as a team-building event, with staff competing to clean up the most, enjoying coffee and breakfast treats together, and even morning stretching. In the end, it's all about pride in what you do, where you work, and creating a culture of taking care of people and things. “We want to be part of the downtown. We provide a critical role in the healthcare for the Central Valley, but we want to be part of the downtown revival project as well. First, we want to fix our home, make it beautiful, fix it, make it shiny, and then be part of the bigger community,” Fathi said. The hospital may make the clean-up an annual event but also hopes that keeping things looking great will be part of normal, everyday life too.
