(BCN) -- A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Thursday morning as he crossed Sunset Avenue in Fairfield. The Fairfield Police Department Traffic Unit responded and launched an investigation which remains active, according to police. Thursday's crash shut down a portion of a roadway in Fairfield's Parkway Garden neighborhood. In an advisory around 6:45 a.m., police said the crash occurred near Sunset and Daniel Street. In a separate incident Fairfield PD reported Thursday, a woman crossing East Travis Boulevard on Wednesday was struck and killed by a pickup truck heading west. The driver of the truck, 44-year-old Angelica Medina of Suisun, as arrested and booked for vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Officials declined to release the name of either victim.
