ULYSSES, Kan. (KSNW) -- The Kansas Highway Patrol urges people looking for a used vehicle to buy to be extra vigilant to avoid being ripped off. It comes after a trooper recently recovered a stolen pickup truck in Ulysses. A person who had recently purchased the pickup took it for an inspection to receive a new title. KHP says the trooper discovered that the VIN and other identifying labels had been replaced with counterfeits. The key to the truck was also an aftermarket key and not an original.
